A legislative committee on Tuesday agreed to move ahead with an audit of how the Kansas Department of Commerce evaluated applications for $100 million in COVID-relief funds.
The Legislative Post-Audit Committee also will examine the department's preemployment screening process after it was revealed that the late Jonathan Clayton was overseeing grant funds at the agency following a fraud conviction.
A third audit also will look at how a Prairie Village cybersecurity company spent a $3 million COVID grant to build a micro-modular edge data center in Great Bend.
