President Donald Trump has pardoned two Kansas men convicted of federal firearms charges who thought they were protected by a state law intended to protect firearms and their accessories made and sold in Kansas from federal prosecution.
Late Friday, Trump pardoned Shane Cox and Jeremy Kettler - both from Chanute - for their 2016 convictions for failing to register gun silencers as required by federal law.
Kettler purchased a silencer at Cox’s military surplus store because he had suffered hearing damage during military service and he wanted the device so he could preserve what was left of his hearing, court records . . .
