Kelly administration reaches $7 million deal resolving dispute over tax incentives

The state has reached an agreement that calls for developers of the Cerner office campus in Wyandotte County to put $7 million into the community after the project failed to meet certain performance goals in exchange for millions in tax incentives.

Gov. Laura Kelly on Friday morning announced that a deal had been made to settle a dispute over whether Cerner's office complex near the Kansas Speedway had generated  sufficient withholding taxes to satisfy the requirements of the incentives.

The targeted amount for withholding taxes was $216 million, and that's where the state and the developers couldn't . . .
