A Kansas political veteran who guided a nonprofit social welfare group through gubernatorial campaigns against Republicans Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach has joined Gov. Laura Kelly's staff.
The governor has hired Ryan Wright, who has served as executive director and board member of the Kansas Values Institute, a dark money group that spent millions against Brownback in 2014 and Kobach last fall . . .
