Gov. Laura Kelly on Wednesday called for the Legislature to meet in a special session to take up tax cuts after failing to come to an agreement on a bill during the regular session.

Kelly is calling the special session for June 18. It will be the state's 26th special session and the first since 2021, when enough lawmakers signed a petition to force the governor to call a special session to address federal vaccine mandates.
