A mailer encouraging Kansas voters to boot out Supreme Court justices who are up for retention next week is being condemned as deceiving because it blended justices on the U.S. and state Supreme Courts.
The organization formed to advocate for retaining the justices - Keep Kansas Courts Impartial - blasted the mailer that came from the address of VMCF in Lenexa, which is connected to Johnson County political consultant Kris Van Meteren.
"Apparently the only way opponents of fair and impartial courts in Kansas know how to campaign is by lies and deception," said Mike Swenson, spokesman for the courts group . . .
