A Lenexa lawyer on Wednesday filed to run as a Democrat against Republican state Rep. Laura Williams in House District 30 in Johnson County.
Betsey Lasister is challenging Williams, who is completing her first term in the Kansas House after defeating Lenexa City Council member Courtney Eiterich by 140 votes in 2022.
Lasister describes herself on her campaign website as an attorney, a small business owner and former teacher who was raised in Johnson County.
