A Johnson County judge on Monday found that a nonprofit group claiming to support transgender youth but accused of using money for personal use defaulted in a lawsuit seeking to shut down the charity and its leader.
Judge Christopher Jayaram agreed to a default judgment against Molly Catherine Brace and the nonprofit group Trans Heartland after neither party responded to a state lawsuit seeking to stop them from raising money as a charity.
Neither Brace nor any representative of the charity appeared in court Monday to defend against the judgment sought by the attorney general.
