The way lawmakers tell it, Travis Vathauer was no ordinary office assistant.
He was described as efficient and detail-oriented with an innate ability to foresee the demands of a busy legislative office that's home to four Democratic lawmakers.
"He was so thorough. He anticipated every need," said Democratic state Rep. Sydney Carlin of Manhattan, one of the lawmakers in the office suite where Vathauer worked.
"There's nothing he wouldn't do," Carlin said. "As soon as he saw the need, he did it. As soon as he anticipated a need, it was taken care of."
