Johnson County pastor Adam Hamilton, who built a congregation from scratch into one of the biggest Methodist churches in the country, on Thursday started to rewrite the race to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall.
After a tour that took him to 18 stops across the state as he visited with Kansans about their concerns, Hamilton announced his candidacy to enthusiastic supporters at a Prairie Village park.
"I've been nervous, anxious, excited, scared and deeply committed and convicted," Hamilton told the crowd in Prairie Village where his family settled down.
