Legislative leaders on Thursday approved hiring a staffer for Senate Majority Leader Chase Blasi to oversee Legislative Administrative Services, the agency that provides administrative and technical support for the Legislature.
The Legislative Coordinating Council voted to hire Matt Billingsley to replace Tom Day, who is retiring July 1 after serving as the director of Legislative Administrative Services for 12 years.
Blasi hired Billingsley as his chief of staff in 2024. Billingsley later stepped aside from that role and took on a position as a consultant for Blasi.
