Insurers seeking double-digit rate hikes for ACA coverage in Kansas

Health insurers that provide coverage on the Affordable Care Act exchange for 143,000 Kansans are seeking rate increases for 2027,  setting off worries that more people will lose health care coverage next year.

Six insurers – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, UnitedHealthcare, Celtic Insurance, Oscar Insurance, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and Bankers Reserve Life Insurance - are requesting average rate increases ranging from 15.38% to 34.8%.
