The state ethics commission has dismissed a complaint lodged against the Republican nominee for governor alleging that he violated a state law that prohibits public employees from using taxpayer-funded time to campaign for office.
The day before the primary election, the Kansas Public Disclosure Commission issued an order setting aside former state Sen. Mark Steffen's complaint against Senate President Ty Masterson, who will face Democratic state Sen. Cindy Holscher in the general election.
The order didn't offer any explanation other than to say that it was dismissed. A copy of the order was sent to Masterson and . . .
