The Kansas Senate on Wednesday approved a new tax incentive for data centers that have been criticized nationally for creating few jobs even if they make heavy investments.
Senators voted 34-6 to approve a bill exempting data centers from state and local sales taxes if they invest at least $250 million and employ 20 people.
