Well, the joke may soon be over.

The Kansas Republican Party on Monday afternoon lodged an objection to the candidacy of political satirist and performance artist Vermin Supreme for attorney general.

In a one-sentence statement, the party challenged his candidacy based on residency.

The colorful candidate resembling Gandolf, who wears an upside down boot for a hat, listed his residence as Rockport, Mass when he filed for office last week.

Supreme has gained national attention over the years running for president, promising free ponies for everyone, mandatory tooth-brushing laws and time-travel research.

He actually finished fourth in the New Hampshire Democratic presidential primary in 2016.

His appearance would make for an interesting Objections Board hearing.

Beware. In 2011, he glitter bombed Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry at a forum for lesser-known candidates in New Hampshire.
