Leading lawmakers on Thursday approved an interim special committee to investigate campaign contribution transparency with a focus on a congressional report that suggested that the top fundraising platform for Democrats was not serious about preventing fraud.
The Legislative Coordinating Council approved a special committee that had been sought by Republican state Rep. Pat Proctor of Leavenworth, chair of the House elections committee and a candidate for secretary of state in 2026.
The committee will meet for one day. It will be chaired by the Senate.
Proctor's request to the committee didn't single out the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue . . .
