The four major Republican candidates left in the primary field for governor raised about $3.1 million this year with two of them relying heavily on their own wallets to finance their campaigns.
New reports filed late Monday showed that about half the money raised from January through July 23 - about $1.6 million - came from personal loans made by Johnson County businessman Philip Sarnecki and Secretary of State Scott Schwab.
