Former Republican state Rep. Bob Tomlinson, who spent a decade at the Kansas Insurance Department as the assistant commissioner, has died. He was 67.
Democratic state Rep. Cindy Neighbor of Shawnee announced Tomlinson's death on the House floor Tuesday morning. Neighbor said Tomlinson died early Tuesday.
"If you don't know Bob, he was a representative here in the House, but he was more than that," Neighbor said.
"He was a teacher for many years. He taught history and was very proud of the job he did because he worked in an alternative school a lot of his time . . .
