Gov. Laura Kelly's nominee to lead the Department of Wildlife and Parks on Wednesday defended his work in Missouri on diversity and inclusion and vowed he will make hiring decisions in Kansas based strictly on capabilities and qualifications.
The Senate agriculture committee brought Chris Kennedy back for a second hearing Wednesday to learn more about how he would lead the agency and especially about his previous work on diversity and inclusion.
Last summer, Kennedy’s confirmation whipped out of the Senate interim confirmation committee . . .
