CareSource seeks to delay implementation of KanCare contract

A second managed care company protesting the awarding of the state's Medicaid contracts is asking the state to delay implementation of the contracts for administering the $4 billion health care program for the less affluent.

In a protest made available to lawmakers on Monday, CareSource, an Ohio-based managed care nonprofit, cites a conflict of interest, the inability of another bidder to provide required services, failure to consider the cost of its proposal and an arbitrary scoring system.
