Good morning everyone:
It was kind of a melancholy week. Public school advocates found out they were losing a friend with Dale Dennis' announcement that he was stepping down as the state's school financial guru at the end of the month. The week ended with the death of former Republican lawmaker and lottery director Dennis Wilson. In between, we had an acrimonious meeting of the State Finance Council where the governor and Republican lawmakers clashed over the extension of the emergency disaster declaration. Now, onto the significant stories we published last week.
