State health officials on Tuesday announced the selection of three companies to manage the state's $4 billion Medicaid program that covers more than 400,000 Kansans.

The state picked two incumbents - Sunflower Health Plan and United Healthcare Community Plan - and a new coalition that includes Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City.
