Kansas Bureau of Investigation Director Tony Mattivi's legal career reached a new high-water mark Tuesday when the U.S. Senate confirmed him to a seat on the federal bench in Kansas after spending a career highlighted by fighting terrorism in the courtroom.
The U.S. Senate voted 51-46 to confirm Mattivi, who was rated by the American Bar Association as "well qualified" for the position. He was the second of President Donald Trump's three nominees to judgeships in Kansas to be confirmed.
