Republicans hold commanding leads in races for secretary of state, insurance commissioner, treasurer and attorney general, a new poll shows.

The new poll by Remington Research Group shows Scott Schwab leading the race for secretary of state, Vicki Schmidt ahead in the race for insurance commissioner, Jake LaTurner with a lead in the race for treasurer and Derek Schmidt ahead in his bid to get re-elected attorney general.

It’s the same poll that we reported the results from in the governor’s race on Friday afternoon. However, we didn’t get a copy of the complete poll results until late Friday night after Fox 4 Kansas City obtained copy. A hat tip to the television station.

Remington surveyed 1,680 likely Kansas voters with a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.

Besides the results from the governor’s race, here’s how the results from the statewide races stacked up in the poll:

Secretary of State: Schwab, 43 percent; Democrat Brian McClendon 34 percent; Libertarian Rob Hodgkinson 5 percent. Undecided was 16 percent.

Treasurer: LaTurner, 47 percent; Democrat Marci Francisco, 37 percent. Undecided was 16 percent.

Attorney general: Schmidt, 53 percent; Democrat Sarah Swain, 36 percent. Undecided was at 11 percent.

Insurance Commissioner: Schmidt, 52 percent; Democrat Nathaniel McLaughlin, 32 percent. Undecided was 16 percent.

Observations from the cross tabs:

Fifty-three percent of those polled in the 3rd District said the country was on the wrong track, compared to 45 percent in the 1st District, 48 percent in the 2nd District and 47 in the 4th District.

Statewide, 48 percent of voters think the country is on the wrong track compared to 42 percent who think it is on the right track. Ten percent didn’t know.

Kobach favorability: Fourth Congressional District voters view Republican Kris Kobach the most favorably in the governor’s race. Kobach’s favorability rating in the 4th District was 41 percent. It was 40 percent in the Big 1st while dropping to 32 percent in the 2nd District and 38 percent in the 3rd District.

It was 47 percent in the 3rd District while dropping to 40 percent in the 1st District and 35 percent in the 4th Congressional District.
