A legislative committee on Monday agreed to add $141,000 to the state budget for boosting the office budgets of House and Senate leadership.
The House Appropriations Committee tucked the money for the leadership offices into the $20.9 million budget for the Legislature, prompting complaints that it wasn't adequately vetted.
The overall state budget is about $19 billion, of which the leadership office budget would total about $1.4 million after the increase.
