Former insurance commissioner gets back into politics

The last time we checked in with former state Insurance Commissioner Ken Selzer, he was part of a large Republican field running for governor.

Selzer is getting back into politics, this time joining another large field running for chair of the Johnson County Commission.

Selzer on Monday quietly filed to run for the seat, and he expects to make a formal announcement Tuesday morning.

Selzer served as Kansas insurance commissioner from 2015 to 2019. He left office to mount an unsuccessful campaign for governor.
