Republican incumbent Secretary of State Scott Schwab nearly doubled what he raised going into his last election, while GOP challenger Mike Brown dipped heavily into his bank account to give his campaign a boost.
Schwab reported raising about $165,000 during 2021, including thousands from the Topeka lobbying corps, $2,000 from Dunn Construction, $1,000 from construction executive Ernie Straub and $1,000 from U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran's political action committee.
