Treasurer candidates reveal campaign fundraising


Republican state Rep. Steven Johnson leads the GOP field in fundraising for state treasurer, although he injected $200,000 of his own money into his campaign.

Johnson, a state lawmaker from Assaria, reported raising $403,000, about half which came in the form of loans to his campaign. He still had $383,000 on hand as of Dec. 31.

“The support we have going into the election year is humbling,” Johnson said in a statement sent out late Monday.
