Candidate withdraws from RNC committeewoman race

A candidate running for state Republican national committeewoman has withdrawn from the race because of a family medical emergency.

Rochelle Tocchini, who ran unsuccessfully for the Kansas House in 2018, announced Sunday that she would not seek the position after her daughter had a medical emergency.

"While I remain committed to our party, right now my daughter needs me. Nothing is more important to me than her well-being," Tocchini said.

Tocchini's departure leaves Republican Party 3rd District Chair Wendy Bingesser and Johnson County Republican Party Chair Maria Holiday as the candidates seeking the position. The election will be . . .
