With the World Cup fast approaching, the Kansas Legislature is moving to open up the market for Kansans to rent their property in the short term.
A bill approved by the House - and now headed to the Senate - would prohibit local governments from limiting the number of short-term rental properties from May 15 through July 25 when the World Cup is played in Kansas City.
The bill only applies to restrictions on the number of short-term rentals, not the municipal regulations that govern them.
