A bill that would end many occupational licenses issued by state and local governments within five years is running into questions about whether it's too broad and workable.
The bill, backed by Americans for Prosperity, would lapse any occupational requirements that are in effect on July 1 of this year by July 1, 2030, unless continued by the Legislature.
And any new occupational licensing requirements enacted after this July 1 would end five years after they start unless approved by the Legislature.
