The legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas is leaving this spring to head into teaching.
Sharon Brett is planning to step aside as the ACLU's legal director at the end of March to teach at the University of Kansas Law School.
While not necessarily a day-to-day presence at the Kansas Capitol, Brett's work influences the ebb and flow of state government on a variety of issues, whether it's elections, law enforcement or LGBTQ rights.
