Mary Ryckman, the wife of state Sen. Ron Ryckman and mother of former House speaker Ron Ryckman Jr., died Wednesday morning after a long illness. She was 76.
High school sweethearts, Mary Ryckman and Sen. Ryckman had been married since 1966.
They were married in Kalkaska, Michigan, before moving to Meade in 1980 where they lived for more than 44 years.
"Our hearts are heavy today as we lift up Sen. Ryckman and his family in prayer over the loss of his beloved wife, Mary," Senate President Ty Masterson said in a statement.
