Division over data centers, child care emerge in Democratic primary for governor

A schism developed Thursday night between the two major Democratic candidates for governor over how to regulate data centers and child care in Kansas.

In what may be the first open sign of sharp disagreement, state Sen. Ethan Corson of Fairway called out Sen. Cindy Holscher for duplicitous positions on data centers and the Kansas City Chiefs deal.

Meanwhile, Holscher criticized Corson for supporting a bill advocated by Gov. Laura Kelly that established the Kansas Office of Early Childhood, which has oversight of all funds, programs and policies related to early childhood care service.

Holscher said the bill contained provisions . . .
