(UPDATED to include comment from Robinson's attorney)
Gov. Laura Kelly on Thursday denied clemency to serial killer John E. Robinson Sr., who investigators connected to the deaths of at least eight women in Kansas and Missouri, some whose bodies were found stuffed in barrels in a case that received national and international attention in the early 2000s.
“As the existence of a credible claim of innocence or evidence of manifest injustice are absent in his request, I have denied John Robinson’s request to commute his death sentence,” Kelly said in a brief statement.
