The Kansas Senate on Wednesday approved a bill that would restructure the membership of the Kansas Prisoner Review Board after it paroled the murderer of a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper last year.
The Senate voted 33-7 to pass a bill expanding the size of the board to five members and strips the power of the corrections secretary from appointing the panel.
The three-member board now serves at the pleasure of the corrections secretary and its members are . . .
