Kansas lawmakers on Wednesday approved legislation barring local governments from requiring landlords to lease property to tenants based solely on the source of their income, including whether they accept federal housing vouchers.
The House and Senate passed similar bills that were centered on a Lawrence ordinance that prohibits landlords from denying rental applications solely because of the source of their tenant's income. The House bill passed SSJ
