Gov.-elect Laura Kelly on Wednesday named cabinet secretaries for transportation and commerce.
Kelly announced that Julie Lorenz is her interim choice to lead the Kansas Department of Transportation.
She also named David Toland as the permanent secretary of commerce, highlighting his decade of work on economic development issues in communities across Kansas.
Lorenz now leads strategic consulting and public engagement services for the transportation group at the Kansas City engineering firm Burns & McDonnell.
