Vote on abortion amendment pushed to Thursday

Republican Sen. Dennis Pyle returned to the state Senate on Monday after a weekend of pressure from supporters of a consitutional amendment that would ensure that abortion is not a fundamental right in Kansas.

Pyle missed a vote on the amendment last Thursday, leaving abortion-rights opponents scratching their heads about why the lawmaker with a steady voting record against abortion would have skipped one of the biggest votes of the 2021 session.
