Third outside group to join bidding for KanCare contract

A third outside group is planning to get in on the bidding for one of the contracts to administer to the state's $4.2 billion Medicaid program.

Minnesota-based UCare is planning to compete - possibly against at least five other groups - for a contract to run the KanCare program that serves more than 400,000 Kansans.

The company announced Wednesday that it hired former Kansas Medicaid Director Jon Hamdorf as its new market president.
