The Kansas House early Monday evening turned back an attempt to override Gov. Laura Kelly's veto of a bill that would have banned gender-affirming care for Kansas children.
The House voted 82-43 to override the governor's veto but came up two votes short of an override after two lawmakers changed their votes.
Earlier in the day, the Senate voted 27-13
