(Updated to clarify part of the bill dealing with meningitis vaccines)

The Kansas Senate on Wednesday agreed to broaden an exemption for vaccines by requiring schools and day care centers to grant waivers to children on the basis of a sincerely held religious belief without question.

The Senate health committee voted 22-18 to pass a bill giving a vaccine exemption to children similar to what the Legislature gave to workers for COVID-19 inoculations . . .
