Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt late Tuesday advised Gov. Laura Kelly against filling the appeals court position left open with the failed nomination of District Judge Jeffry Jack.
Kelly pulled Jack's nomination Tuesday after a series of the judge's tweets ranting against conservative politicians surfaced publicly Monday.
Kelly wants to nominate a new candidate, but Senate President Susan Wagle believes that the governor's time has run out for a new nominee under the law . . .
