Anticipating a competitive governor's race this year in Kansas, the Republican Governors Association has reserved about $1 million in ad time months ahead of the general election.

RGA spokesman Jon Thompson said the group is earmarking $1.1 million for the Kansas gubernatorial race, most of which will go to the Kansas City market.
