Regulators allow chamber groups to intervene in rate case over utility’s objections

State regulators have given the Kansas Chamber of Commerce the ability to intervene in Evergy’s case for raising electric rates for the first time in five years.

It is a rare and possibly an unprecedented step for the Kansas chamber to intervene in an electric rate case.

The chamber argued that it was imperative to be involved in the case because the outcome will be critical to economic development and the state's business climate.

The chamber had faced some SSJ
