Redistricting forces change on Supreme Court screening panel

Lawrence attorney Terry Campbell has resigned from the Supreme Court Nominating Commission after he was moved out of the 2nd Congressional District because of new election districts drawn by the Legislature.

Campbell had served on the panel since 2019, playing a part in screening three of Gov. Laura Kelly's appointments to the Supreme Court: Evelyn Wilson, K.J. Wall and Melissa Standridge.

The chief justice of the Supreme Court will appoint his replacement. An election will be held in the spring of 2023 to choose someone to serve a full four-year term.
