Prosecutor says new law ‘potentially dangerous’ for transgender Kansans

Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez says she will not prosecute anyone under a new law passed by the Legislature that she says is "senseless" and is "potentially dangerous to our trans community."

Valdez was targeting SB 180 - named the Women's Bill of Rights -  that she said would prohibit transgender people from using restrooms, locker rooms and other public facilities that are designated for cisgender use.
