The Kansas Board of Regents on Thursday named an administrator from Northwest Missouri State University as the 19th president at Emporia State University.
The board named Matthew Baker, vice president of student affairs at Northwest Missouri State, to succeed Ken Hush, who is retiring Dec. 17.
"This opportunity is meaningful for all of us, and I am energized by the possibilities ahead," Baker said in brief remarks after his hiring was announced.
"Over the last several years, Emporia State has demonstrated resilience, courage and steadfast commitments to its students," he said.
