Most state universities propose tuition increases; Emporia seeks no hike for third straight year

Most of the state’s six public universities are proposing tuition increases for the upcoming academic year, responding to inflationary pressures, demands for competitive pay and benefits, declining international student enrollment and reductions in state support.

The universities made their proposals for tuition and fee increases to the Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday although they won't be considered for final approval until next month.

For resident undergraduate students, they are seeking anywhere from no increase at Emporia State to 6% at Fort Hays State.
