New chief justice urges lawmakers to adopt rural justice measure

New Kansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Rosen on Tuesday urged lawmakers to consider a plan to offer incentives to encourage attorneys to practice in rural Kansas in order to ensure access to the court system.

Making his first appearance before the Kansas Legislature after replacing Marla Luckert as chief justice, Rosen laid out a need for a program that's been proposed to address a shortage of rural lawyers.
